Holiday Detectors are used to detect skips & pinholes (holidays) in paint film after curing.
These flaws in the cured coating system is adversely affected when the service of the item coated is in an environment with high electrolyte content such as immersion service or splash zone environment. Due to the lack of barrier protection, steel substrates with pinholes or skips in their protective coating will undergo accelerated corrosion.
